Don O’Roark attended Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA and later the American University in Washington, DC where his major was Economics and minor Business Administration. Following a tour in the U.S. Army, he entered the financial services industry in 1970. In 1982, he founded a firm to provide independent financial services to his clients. This firm would later become O’Roark Asset Management. Don holds the designations of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). He also earned graduate certificates in Taxation, Estate Planning, Executive Compensation and Employee Benefit Planning from the American College Graduate School. He is an Investment Advisor Affiliate and is also licensed in the areas of insurance and annuities. Don is former member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Top Of The Table and the Warrenton/Fauquier Chamber of Commerce. He is active in the Warrenton business community. In Don’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, walking his dogs and playing a round of golf.

Jill O’Roark joined O’Roark Asset Management in 1995 after seven years at a local bank. She has supervisory responsibility for preparation of client financial analysis and planning, and is now President of our firm. She holds the designation of Certified Fund Specialist (CFS). Her background in banking includes acting as a mortgage loan officer prior to joining O’Roark Asset Management. Jill is an Investment Advisor Affiliate and is also licensed in the areas of insurance and annuities. Prior to shifting her professional focus to asset management and guaranteed annuities, she held a stock brokers license and served as a registered principal which enabled her to supervise other investment brokers. She is a member of the Warrenton/Fauquier Chamber of Commerce. When Jill is not in the office, she enjoys reading, spending time with her husband, spoiling her dogs and raising and showing miniature horses. Several of Jill’s horses have earned National Champion titles in halter and driving.

Together, Don O’Roark and Jill O’Roark are a father-daughter team who are well-known financial educators in Warrenton, VA. They have over 60 years combined experience in the financial services industry and have developed a specialty in advising retirees and those about to retire who want help in protecting their principal and ensuring that their money lasts. They have presented financial education seminars and workshops at George Mason University, The University of Virginia, James Madison University, Eastern Mennonite University and Lord Fairfax Community College

Don and Jill may be heard on The Financial Safari Radio Show every Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on AM730 WTNT (Alexandria, VA) and AM1250 WKDL (Warrenton, VA).  The show is currently scheduled to repeat every Saturday morning at 1:00 p.m. and prior episodes may be heard right here on our website by clicking the "Radio Show" button above.  COMING IN JANUARY 2012, our show will air on mega radio station AM1500 WFED (Federal News Radio, Washington, DC) Sunday mornings from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.  Each week we share timely information and educational case studies.  We hope you will be able to tune in!

Joy O’Roark, wife of 45 years to Don, worked as his officemanager for 25+ years. Prior to assisting Don and managing all aspects of the office, she worked at a large bank in Washington, DC. Joy excels in client relations and customer service. While running Don’s office, Joy also raised their two daughters, Robin and Jill. Currently, Joy helps with all of O’Roark Asset Management’s big projects, seminars and workshops. She is Don and Jill’s most valued sounding board. Joy enjoys spending timewith her family, including her three beautiful grandchildren, is a world class shopper, an outstanding chef, artistically gifted, and is the best mom Don and Joy’s girls, dogs and cats could ever know.

Jennifer Trivett has been with O’Roark Asset Management since  2002, working in our front office and providing support for new  accounts and customer service to our clients. She has worn many  hats in her career, which included oversight of government regulations and federal legislation for the wine industry, lobbying firms, and large corporations in the trucking industry. Jennifer still keeps her eye on the trucking industry through her subcontracting work in the field of truck accident reconstruction which she does when she’s not in our office! In her free time, Jennifer enjoys running and physical fitness and she and her husband spend time kayaking local lakes and rivers and hiking locally in the Shenandoah National Park and the Appalachian Trail, along with occasional tours on their Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Serena Treworgy Uhas been with O'Roark Asset Management since July 2005. She provides administrative support for Don & Jill in the front office to ensure effective and efficient operations for  the company and its clients. Serena will always be here to greet  you with a smile. Before working for O'Roark Asset Management,  Serena taught and substitute taught in many schools around the country and in Okinawa, Japan. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from West Virginia University. In her spare time, Serena enjoys working out at the gym, running, hiking, traveling and enjoying time with her family and friends. She has recently been found participating in some "Mud Runs" and enjoys the challenges that they provide.
